The vineyard grows on a steep south-facing granitic soil hill, surrounded by fynbos and the most beautiful views, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean – 9km to be exact. The massive day/night temperature difference is evident in the wine as it results in thicker skins, which leads to a higher tannin content and more colour. The cooler area also allows the grapes to ripen slower and preserve acidity. Malolactic fermentation happens in barrels, where it stays for 10 months until it is blended and bottled.
