There is no other Pinot Noir vineyard in the Hemel-en-Aarde on a site quite like the Le Luc block. As a result, the site creates a distinctive Pinot noir: Darker in colour, an ethereal, perfumed nose of cherry blossom, violets, rose petal, and mild clove spice. Although only 13% alcohol, the mouthfeel is finessed, delicate yet complex; red and blue fruit, earthy and savory, with a structure delivered seamlessly via fresh acidity and silky, fine-grained tannins. The finish is intense, dry, with hints of sour cherry, gentle vanilla spice and wild forest mushrooms.
